Happy Holidays 2013

Here is another animated note from me! :) 

I know the animation could be much better... but personal projects unfortunately must come after scholarships, contests, and other things that gotta get done! 

I'm really starting to like doing these. I basically get to focus on the illustration and then give it some life. I like animating these notes because it saves trees and paper and it can be watched over and over--
even though I think holding a physical card is equally cool.

Crocheting

This semester I decided to teach/reteach my self how to crochet.
I've always loved textile things-- my mom taught me how to use a sewing machine, I took a class on shibori-ing at MICA, and for reason I just really like to knit & crochet. I have grandma swag.

I wanted to specifically share this with ya'll (I know this is a weird departure from the usual artsy, motion design stuff I post) because I just finished this hat that is possibly the best thing I have crocheted yet.

More importantly then the hat though, is the person I made it for. My Aunt Mary Ellen, recently got diagnosed with brain cancer and lost her hair among many other side effects of chemo. It was awesome being able to make her a hat especially because I just learned how, and its like a hug from me to her head. I hope people this holiday season spreads more love and hugs around because everyone could use more of those.

Here is a less mushy version of the illustration I made for my boyfriend for our 1 year anniversary.
Yes he is the happy bear, and I am the grumpy cat.
I'm thankful he has the patience for my grump-attitude.

PSA: Art is Offensive

I would have uploaded the storyboards and more cool stuff about the project here on my blog but I'm shuffling between hard drives and trying to finish up and organize my life before the semester ends.

There should be more work coming up soon.... over the break I'll have time to shift through my work to keep the posts coming and you all up to date.
