Paint Splosion

Here is a project we interns helped out with over the summer at our internship at Mografi with Thornberg & Forester. It is an ident for the Vicek foundation that involves a paint 'spolsion!

Above is an image of a ball from walmart covered in house paint poured over it with turkey basters (LOL). Basically Joe had to create the effect of a "big bang"with paint. At first he tried creating it entirely in after effects and C4D but nothing looked quite right or real or cool. We interns decided the best way to make a paint explosion was to use paint (genius right?), so we spent the day getting supplies and figuring out the best way to do this. We ended up pointing the camera straight downwards at a green ball that we threw paint on and recorded the whole process. Joe then took the footage shot and messed with it in after effects and used some other techniques and effects to push it further.

Thank You

Finally finished my animated thank you note! Instead of writing thank you notes for my birthday this year I decided to animate one. If I had more time I'd like to work on the butterfly and background more so, but its about time I start embarking on my 3 day road trip back to school. Regardless of how refined or not it is, it feels good to have completed a short personal project. :)

I first created the entire image/type in photoshop, then broke it up and brought it into after effects with music from killer tracks. Enjoy & Thanks to all my friends and family!

Clock Commission

This is a clock design I did on commission for a friend for his girlfriend's birthday (so sweet!). I was very excited to get this project because it was my first clock design and fun to create. The pictures of the finished project aren't the best but I was happy with how everything came out! :)
